Keeping Hyperactivity Under Control With Essential Oils

A good and safe way to calm a child is with essential oils. With every breath, the essential oils have a direct effect on the nervous system. Use this aromatic water to spray in a room, on furniture, pillowcase, or stuffed animal.

1 cup distilled water

20 drops mandarin essential oil

10 drops lavender essential oil

5 drops marjoram essential oil

5 drops sandalwood essential oil

Fill a spray bottle with the distilled water. Add the essential oils. Shake well before each use.

Use this blend in a diffuser or an aroma lamp. Turn the diffuser on 15 minutes before your child arrives home from school.

4 part lavender essential oil

1 part clary sage essential oil

1 part cedarwood essential oil

1 part sandalwood essential oil

Mix the essential oils in a dark glass bottle. Shake gently, label. Diffuse for 15 minutes at a time. The aroma will last several hours in the room air. Use up to three times per day.

When working with children, it’s always really important to use high quality therapeutic-grade essential oils. I recommend since they provide safety information for each oil, including the correct dilutions to use with children and babies if that information exists.

Thank you Maria for sharing the link. Very detailed information about EOs, their properties and safety tips. For general safety advice I recommend, it is the most comprehensive article about safe use of EOs, I have found on the web.
