A good and safe way to calm a child is with essential oils. With every breath, the essential oils have a direct effect on the nervous system. Use this aromatic water to spray in a room, on furniture, pillowcase, or stuffed animal.

1 cup distilled water

20 drops mandarin essential oil

10 drops lavender essential oil

5 drops marjoram essential oil

5 drops sandalwood essential oil

Fill a spray bottle with the distilled water. Add the essential oils. Shake well before each use.

Use this blend in a diffuser or an aroma lamp. Turn the diffuser on 15 minutes before your child arrives home from school.

4 part lavender essential oil

1 part clary sage essential oil

1 part cedarwood essential oil

1 part sandalwood essential oil

Mix the essential oils in a dark glass bottle. Shake gently, label. Diffuse for 15 minutes at a time. The aroma will last several hours in the room air. Use up to three times per day.
